Public area and members area
Your website has two areas. The public area is what anyone can see: your home page, About page, Join page, public events list, and any other public pages you create. On public pages you control the whole page — its header, its main content, and its footer. The members area is for members who are logged in. It includes the Members Home page, member pages such as the Resources page, and event pages. On member pages you edit the content of the page; the members-area header, menu, and footer stay the same on every member page.
A new group starts with these pages:
/— Home/about— About/join— Join/events/public— Public events/members/pages/resources— Resources (members only)/members/pages/mobile-app— Mobile app (members only)
Who can edit the website
Members with the Content Management permission can edit the website. Members with the Superuser permission can too, because Superuser includes every other permission. To give a member this permission, open the member in the admin area, go to Admin Permissions, and turn on Content Management. The member’s membership must be active. With this permission, a member can:- See the Edit Mode button on your website, and edit pages, elements, and menus
- Create, clone, and delete pages
- Use the Design & Web section of the admin menu, which includes Web Pages and Design Settings
How changes go live
There’s no separate publish step. When you save a change in the editor, it goes live on your website right away.- A page you just created can take a few seconds to appear. If you see a “not found” page right after creating one, wait a moment and reload.
- Visitors who already have your website open see your changes the next time they load a page.
